Contrary to the previous photo essay title The Toxicity of the U.S Aid Relief in which I present (the unintended or intended) consequences the U.S relief aid in Puerto Rico, this time I present images that reflect how islander have resisted this toxicity. In this image, there is Jesus statue next to a newly sprout plant. I am trying to convey how the religious culture in the island is embedded in the everyday life of residents. Furthermore, during Hurricane Maria a lot of people prayed for protection from the hurricane.
