A comparison of charts showing data on the numbers of people obtaining legal resident status in the U.S. from 1820-2017 and people deported from the U.S. from 1892-2017. The charts are based on U.S. Department of Homeland Security data.

These images are important in showing how legalizations increased in the 1980s, most likely due to the amnesty; whereas, overtime legalization has significantly decreased since the 1980s while deportation of migrants has increased.
