The image really highlights the everyday nature of toxics exposure for some people. The map (and its associated cartographic history for representing landscape) is an excellent way of visualising the ways in which sites like this are connected with people and places around them. The caption highlights this and brings the image to life ethnographically. Moreover, the juxtaposition of the map and the ratings, user comments, and the man with the thumbs up makes the image ever more uneasy viewing, perhaps commenting on how the digital can be used to further obscure these out of sight out of mind toxic places.
