Description
This research project studies the development of gerontology in China as a transnational assemblage that connects elderly care expertise, practices, labor force, and architecture design. This research aims to contribute to the literature on the transnational flow of knowledge and care labor. My fieldsite is primarily in Beijing and Shanghai's nursing homes, with comparative research conducted in Japan and the U.S.'s gerontology program and care worker training institutes.
