The toxicity is not apparent in the artifact, but it I think it refers to the hidden toxicities in the practices of maintianing the cemeteries through objectification of tombstones. Also, the toxicity is invisiblized through creation of fetish for chemically and physically resistant tombstones with the notions of memorialization and eternity.
